Jazz On The Island
Experience all Spring Beat has to offer! the Jazz on the Island is a two days’ live music event centered around Jazz that is held on third weekend of April to be an annual event on the Island. The two days’ jazz festival will have two-night concert performances by Hindi Zahra who was performing over 400 live shows in five continents before returning to her homeland, Morocco, in 2015, where she released Homeland, which summarizes her career, declared as “North-African Patti Smith,” Hindi Zahra’s mesmerizing elements of music feature a mix of African and Western compositions, demonstrating her versatile talents, such as lyric writing, music playing, singing and painting. Zahra and her band will perform live songs from her albums in English, French and Amazigh, featuring a vibrant mix of jazz, rock and funky music, during her appearance in a live show at the Jazz at the Island Festival in Sharjah on the 20th of April, 2018. For the second day Salha and the Million Dollar Band will perform with her unique and captivating style, is rightly regarded as one of the most popular entertainers in the region. She is complimented by her ‘Million Dollar Band,’ a collection of the very finest international musicians. Together they have travelled the globe, from Cannes to Kenya, Mallorca to Malaysia; entertaining royalty, celebrities and fans; in grand ballrooms and local music venues; playing intimate jazz gigs and rock ‘n’ roll spectacles! Salha and the Million Dollar Band will be staged at Al Noor Island on the 21st of April to entertain music fans during the Jazz at the Island Festival.

Tales on The Island – International Storytelling Festival in Sharjah
Following the success of last year’s first edition of the International Storytelling Festival ‘Tales on the Island’, Al Noor Island is hosting the second edition this year under the theme ‘Roots and Roads’. The event will be held from 23rd of February to 17th of March, bringing together some of the best storytellers of the world, to share their enchanted stories with the audience. The Festival will be a celebration of the oral tradition, with performances, workshops, music and interactive events for all ages. Comfortably sitting on the majlis below the trees, the audience will be able to travel though imagination and wander to far away lands on the magic carpet of “Once upon a time”.
